Stay Updated on the New Decorah Elementary School Project Developments

THANK YOU, DECORAH COMMUNITY

We want to extend our gratitude for your support for approving a bond that will fund the construction of a new Pre-K to 2nd grade school. This long-anticipated project, more than 15 years in the making, reflects your commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment for our youngest learners at Decorah Community School District.

The new school will replace John Cline Elementary and West Side Early Childhood Center, ensuring that future generations have access to modern, flexible spaces that inspire curiosity and growth.Your trust in this vision reinforces the strength of our community’s commitment to education and opportunity for all.

Together, we are building a legacy that will impact Decorah’s children for generations to come.

THE BOND WAS APPROVED. NOW WHAT?

With the community’s support and approval of the bond, we are excited to begin the next phase of this important project. We have already kicked off the design process, including initial design meetings with district leadership. Their feedback highlighted a focus on supervision, traffic patterns, and sound transmission. As the design process progresses, staff will be actively engaged to provide their valuable input. Our project team will work closely throughout this process to ensure the scope and budget are carefully managed as we create a modern, functional learning environment that meets the needs of students, staff, and the community. The project is scheduled to be ready for bidding in fall 2025, and we look forward to sharing updates as we reach each milestone.
